Job: Junior UX / UI Designer

Full-time (permanent) but will consider part time if desired.

Plymouth studio based.

You’ve probably read about who we are and what we do on our website, but just in case you haven’t then this is who we are…

A bit about us…

Made with Maturity is a boutique UX web design agency based in Plymouth in sunny Devon (UK).

We work with clients regionally, nationally and internationally across a wide variety of sectors. Clients we’ve worked with in the past include: The Ministry of Defence, James Martin, The Royal Foundation, NHS and Tesco.

We have 2 main areas of our business:

UX and UI design for technology

We work with clients who have technology platforms (fintech, proptech, tourism and others) and they choose to work with us as their outsourced ux / ui design team. We craft the platforms to be intuitive and easy to use. These jobs can be challenging and take a fair amount of brain power to solve complex problems. But super rewarding.

Marketing websites

The other part of the business is marketing websites where we are working with clients’ to understand their point of difference and to help make them shine to their customers. These projects invite creative freedom and every client is different, so adds a real variety to the work. We are always looking for ways to innovate so there is room to work closely with our front end developers to explore animations and interactivity.

A bit about you…

Based in our Plymouth office, we are looking for a full time enthusiastic designer (0-3 years experience) who can work well with others, can support the senior designers on design projects, but also lead their own projects. As well as having a voice in explaining your design decisions, you also must be able to take direction from senior team, and have a good ear for listening to our clients and their customers.

While this is not a UX research position, an understanding of the basic concepts in UX research will be required.

As a fast paced agency, we are looking for someone who likes variety in their work, who has an equal passion for UX design and also UI design.

As well as UX and UI design we are looking for someone who can build websites with the designer led web development tool Webflow. Previous experience of Webflow is not essential but would be an advantage. Basic knowledge of front end development including HTML / CSS would be required.

If you have any other skills that you’d like to have an outlet to explore e.g, illustration, animation, video, photography, copywriting, research or anything else, then let us know, as we are always open to see how we can use the skills within the team on client projects.

There is much more that I can say about this role, but I’d rather have a conversation with interested people to fill in the details or to answer any questions you may have.

Desirable but not essential is a love for cookies and cream teas. #ShareTheCookieLove #DollopsOfNetworking

Salary

£23,000 to £26,000 (depending on experience)

Other benefits include:

  • fridge full of Coke Zero,
  • an unhealthy supply of cookies,
  • free car parking
